Orientation Schedule and Information
Mandatory Orientation
We’re excited to welcome you!
To meet the requirement, you only need to attend one orientation session. There is no need to sign up in advance—just join us at one of the scheduled times.
Attendance will be recorded at the end of the session through a brief survey. Please be sure to complete the survey before exiting the meeting. If you leave before completing it, you will not receive attendance credit and will need to attend another session.

Entrance Exam
The entrance exam schedule is below. After you have attended the Mandatory Orientation, if you would like to take the next step toward registraton, you will need to take and pass our entrance exam. The entrance exam is comprised of 75 questions. The questions are multiple choice and range from English grammar, punctuation, spelling, word usage, and basic computer terminology and application. You will need to score an 80% or higher to be eligible for enrollment.
In the event that you do not pass the entrance exam on the first attempt, you may enroll in one of the online courses under Grammar Punctuation Help for Court Reporting Studens to update your knowledge and skills. A certificate from this achievement may be sent to Carrie Ravenscroft at cravenscroft@c-vusd.org. If there is a second opportunity to test before the start of the term, you may retest at that time. Otherwise, you would be required to test at the next opportunity which may be for the following term.
Students living within a 20-mile radius of our Covina Trade Tech campus, will be required to attend in person. All other students not living within that range, may join online. I will send out an email asking you to let me know which of the entrance exam time slots you will be testing.
